Kingsford Terrace

This new benchmark in seniors living is named after pioneering aviator, Sir Charles Kingsford Smith. A visionary leader, ‘Smithy’ was also a Queenslander.

Having fought at Gallipoli, Kingsford Smith joined the British Royal Flying Corps where he developed his love for flying. Born in 1897, he earned global fame when he made the first trans-Pacific flight from the United States to Australia in 1928. By 1933, having again broken the record for a solo flight from England to Australia, he held the most world records for long-distance flying.

Admired for his courage, aviation skill, leadership and sense of adventure, Smithy was a true pioneer and an inspiring futurist, he set daring new goals and achieved them. This ethos was at the heart of the development process and the lifestyle that embodies Kingsford Terrace.

With demolition complete, early works are scheduled to begin in May 2013 with 68 stage one apartments and the construction of the community centre – The Southern Cross. These stunning balcony apartments have been designed from the ground up to suit a modern lifestyle and engage you in a community in which you will be proud to live.

An impressive community centre, the Southern Cross complex helps to ensure the Kingsford Terrace community is full of life and laughter. Named after Kingsford Smith’s famous tri-motor monoplane, it is a central meeting place and home to an array of welcoming spaces.

The entry level is focused on relaxation – a café serves espresso coffee and delicious meals and also serves as a function space for up to 180 guests. A stunning lounge and bar area extends to the outdoor terrace, with views across the superb central gardens. The terrace and rooftop garden are ideal for alfresco dining and barbecues with family and friends.

There are also intimate spaces to enjoy a game of cards, a round of billiards or relax with a book.

As part of PresCare’s holistic approach to your wellbeing, visiting Chaplains hold services in the Chapel each week.
